If you have access to iTunes and the ability to play video podcasts, check out "All Songs Considered" and their new series called "Project Song."
They take musicians and give them 48 hours to write and record a song. Each gets to choose a phrase on a note card and an image for inspiration, then they get to work writing. Each episode ends with the song they wrote.
They've done 2 so far, Stephin Merritt and a band I'd never heard of called Georgie James. In iTunes, do a search for All Songs Considered, then scroll until you see those podcasts.
